October 3, 2008: Investment Tax Credits Extended!
The long-awaited extensions of the Production (PTC) and Investment Tax Credits (ITC) were finally passed as part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (H.R. 1424) and were signed into law by President Bush. The tax credit package, which is identical to the one the Senate approved on September 24, will extend the PTC for one year and the ITC for eight years. Read the full story.
Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) Commits to Green Tech
Hawaii's largest utility, HECO, has agreed to a plan to generate 70 percent of Hawaii's energy from clean energy sources by 2030. As part of this plan, HECO commits to not build any new coal plants, to integrate up to 1,100 megawatts of energy generated from renewable sources into the power grid, and to convert existing fossil fuel generators to locally produced biofuels. Granite Bay Energy Ranks Among Top Photovoltaic Contractors
The Sacramento Business Journal recently ranked Granite Bay Energy — our parent company—4th on the list of top Sacramento-area Photovoltaic contractors in terms of generating capacity installed in 2007. During that year, Granite Bay Energy installed 2,000 Kilowatts of generating capacity, with an annual revenue of $10 million.
